Dr. David J. Powell
Dr. David Powell joined
A former Naval officer, Dr. Powell experienced chiropractic care for the first time after he was injured on active duty and he has been an active proponent ever since. He is particularly sympathetic to those of us who suffer acute and chronic aches, pains and injuries from the wear and tear of daily life. “When people reach their late 30’s or early 40’s they start to take notice of their health a little more seriously. I really enjoy working with this population because often for the first time they realize that they can influence the quality of their life” says Dr. Powell. “They don’t have to live with acute and chronic issues; often routine chiropractic adjustments can help”. He is an outstanding adjuster and loves to help people live happier, healthier lives.
Before joining the Navy Dr. Powell did graduate work in marriage and family counseling with an emphasis on body-oriented psychotherapy and holistic health. Although he is not currently a licensed therapist, he brings this unique perspective to his practice of chiropractic with a clear understanding of the relationship between the mind and body and how it can physically manifest itself as pain or stiffness. He is also currently working on his animal chiropractic certification for domestic and farm animals.
While not at the office, Dr. Powell enjoys being physically active, and can often be found hiking or running with his wife Kristina, or paddle boarding with their dog Eli.
