 Happy Anniversary CLC!

ChiropracticLifestyle Centercelebrates three years.  Thanks to all of you for supporting our vision.

Clinical Trainings for Staff Members

Once a month we get up early on a Friday morning and participate in our clinical trainings here at CLC.  We use these training sessions to teach our staff how and why we perform certain chiropractic techniques or massage and soft tissue therapies.  Our staff has learned how to take blood pressure and perform body composition testing.  They also know the basics of our PulseFlex rehab system.  We are fortunate to have such knowledgeable staff who really care about learning about natural health care.

We Celebrate Mothers!

Whether you are a mother, have a mother, or have a significant mother in your life, this month we are honoring these special women.  Take a moment and reflect on some positive memories with a mother…

Springtime is Here… Really!

Is it really as cold and slow a spring as it seems, or is it just that we’re tired of grey and anxious to get on with things?  It’s a bit of both, really.  “April is the cruelest month,” said the poet T.S. Eliot, and we have, in fact, endured the coldest average daytime temperatures on record for the first half of April in the Pacific NW.  As always, nature lets us know that spring is here with flowers and trees showing off their brilliant colors, the buzzing of bees and the shirping of birds, and the croaking of baby frogs.  Spring vegetable crops are sprouting through the dirt and another season of local produce has begun.  In a month’s time, with a little help from Mother Nature, these cold, grey days will be just a memory. Women’s Health: What Causes Hot Flashes and What Can I Do About Them?

If you've had one, there's no mistaking it: the sudden, intense, hot feeling on your face and upper body, perhaps preceded or accompanied by a rapid heartbeat and sweating, nausea, dizziness, anxiety, headache, weakness, or a feeling of suffocation. Some women experience an "aura," an uneasy feeling just before the hot flash that lets them know what's coming. The flash is followed by a flush, leaving you reddened and perspiring. You can have a soaker or merely a moist upper lip. A chill can lead off the episode or be the finale. Hot flashes are mostly caused by the hormonal changes of menopause, but can also be affected by lifestyle and medications. A diminished level of estrogen has a direct effect on the hypothalamus, the part of the brain responsible for controlling your appetite, sleep cycles, sex hormones, and body temperature. Somehow (we don't know how), the drop in estrogen confuses the hypothalamus-which is sometimes referred to as the body's "thermostat"-and makes it read "too hot."Help is here! Estroverais a natural option demonstrated in clinical studies to significantly reduce menopausal hot flashes compared to placebo. These results are comparable to hormone therapies. Estrovera is on sale for the month of May.
